Recurrent short-course administration is also associated with increased morbidity and mortality ( 2). Glucocorticoid use, both acute and chronic, is known to be associated with a number of significant adverse effects. In the United Kingdom and United States, 2% to 3% percent of the population is currently prescribed glucocorticoid (GC) therapy ( 1).
